My week-end in London

Last week-end I was in London with my girlfriend for 3 days. It was her first time in England. For me, it was my second trip but my first time by Eurostar. In 2 hours and 30 minutes from the Gare du Nord, you are in the heart of the city centre.
We started our visit by Big Ben, Westminter Abbey and Buckingham Palace. The Queen was here ! We went through St. James Park. It was beautiful and so charming. Thre was a lot of grey squirrels, ducks and gooses. Very country-style in the heart of a big capital.
After that, we made some shopping in Piccadilly street, Regent street, Carnaby street and Oxford street. This city is so expensive !!!
On Saturday morning, we went to the Portobello market in Notting Hill. It's a beautiful part of the city with blue, green or pink houses. The market was crowded with a lot of tourists (like us) but also with a lot of Londoners.
In the afternoon, we took a ride on the London Eye (the big wheel). After having wait 1 hour in the cold, we had a very nice view of the city. In the evening, we went to a real english pub ! A rugby match on TV, a pint of beer (or two...) and a fish & chips: so english !
The last day we went to the Camden market. It's not the same spirit compared to the Portobello market. More nuts, unlikely. An interesting part of the city.
For finishing, we went to Chinatown. It's the oldest chinese district of Europe. We ate a very good chinese lunch.
PS: we had a lot of sun on Saturday and a lot of rain on Sunday, of course !
